Ahmedabad Collective

(Overview)

The Ahmedabad Collective, an initiative by IIA Ahmedabad, aims to become an annual event, making concerted efforts to bring the fraternity and its stakeholders onto a common platform.

With this particular edition, our goal was to design a coherent and extensive language for this year's theme; 'Of Houses'. Idea was to develop a modular design system allowing the team to derive various layouts for varied range of touch-points.

The Three Moments The identity system unfolds through three interconnected visual elements, each representing a stage in dwelling. The Concourse captures the nucleus of lived experience—the relational core where person and space meet. The Threshold charts the liminal space where imagination gains weight and manifests into form through the hands and heart of an architect. The Unit's Watchpoint reveals the microcosm, a looking glass through which self and surroundings are perceived anew. A System That Adapts We crafted an expanded color palette—introducing light blue to speak of imagination and freedom, while calibrating saturation and contrast to work across diverse formats. The typography system, anchored by Switzer, brings clarity and accessibility to a conversation as layered as architecture itself. An Evolving Dialogue This project celebrates not just a single event but the beginning of a movement. The Ahmedabad Collective has encountered many voices through its evolution, and with "Of Houses," the language stands ready to expand, adapt, and hold space for the next questions architecture will ask.
